2. General definition of molds: In industrial production, various presses and special tools installed on the presses are used to shape metal or non-metal materials into parts or products of the required form through pressure. Such special tools are collectively referred to as molds.
3. Injection Molding process description: A mold is a tool used for manufacturing plastic products. It is composed of several sets of parts, and there is a forming mold cavity in this combination. During injection molding, the mold is clamped on the injection molding machine. Molten plastic is injected into the molding cavity and cools and solidifies inside the cavity. Then, the upper and lower molds separate, and the product is ejected from the cavity and removed from the mold by the ejection system. Finally, the mold closes again for the next injection molding. The entire injection molding process is carried out in a cycle.
4. (1) On the mold line, it is demolded together with the product during mold opening. The design is the simplest, easy to process, and the cost is relatively low. Therefore, more people adopt the large sprue system for operation.
(2) Fine sprue mold: The runner and gate are not on the parting line and are usually directly on the product. Therefore, an additional set of sprue parting lines needs to be designed, which is more complex in design and more difficult to process. Generally, the fine sprue system should be selected according to the product requirements. (3) Hot runner mold This type of mold structure is largely similar to that of a fine sprue. The main difference is that the runner is located in one or more hot runner plates and hot nozzles with constant temperature, without cold material demolding. The runner and gate are directly on the product, so the runner does not need to be demolded. This system is also known as a sprue system. Dongguan mold processing can save raw materials and is suitable for situations where raw materials are expensive and product requirements are high. The design and processing are difficult, and the mold cost is relatively high.
